Olympic Preparation with SwimPro
Australian Olympic athlete Belinda Hocking is at the peak of her career leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympic games. After winning Gold in the 200m backstroke at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, she has her eyes on the Rio Gold Medal for the same event.
Belinda trains at the Victorian Institute of Sport with Biomechanist Elaine Tor using SwimPro. She says “Every friday morning we come in and do some filming with Elaine about our starts, turns, and skills in the lead up to Olympic trials in 6 weeks.”
In the video, you see Elaine analyzing Belinda’s technique in the playback of the video. SwimPro allows them to look at footage together, or to have Belinda remain in the pool whilst hearing feedback. That way she can then immediately practice the move again while it's fresh in her mind, providing for a more instantaneous correction of muscle memory.
Belinda goes on to talk about her excitement in being newly engaged. Congratulations to Belinda from the SwimPro Team! We will be following and cheering her on in the leadup to Rio 2016.
